うつ病者で会社を退職したら障害年金を考えよう

うつ病者の数は、厚生労働省発表によると95.8万人に達し、100万人前後で推移しています。
健康保険に加入している会社員が業務外の傷病で働けなくなった場合、傷病手当金という給付が健康保険から支給されます。
金額はおよそ給与の2/3となっており、この給付が働けなくなった社員休職している間の生活を支える柱となっています。
この傷病手当金の手続き、社会保険労務士として私も数百件ほど書類を作成してきましたが、感覚的には7割近くの人がうつ病が原因で傷病手当金の申請をしていました。
しかし、この傷病手当金、最大で１年６ヶ月しかもらえません。会社に在籍中に支給要件を満たしていれば退職したとしても支給されるのですが、それでも１年６ヶ月という支給期間の限度は変わりません。
傷病手当金の支給が終わったら、当然収入が途絶えてしまいます。
会社に復帰できればそれが一番ですが、うつ病は再発も多く簡単にはいかないでしょう。結局退職を選択せざるを得ないことも多くあります。
そのような場合に検討すべきなのが障害年金なのです。
社会保険に加入している在職中に初診日があれば通常は障害基礎年金と障害厚生年金の両方が支給対象となり金額も高くなります。
ゆっくり療養に専念した新しいスタートをきるためにも、
障害年金という選択肢を覚えておいてください。
