うつ病に限った話ではないのですが、障害年金を理解するためにはある程度の医学知識も必要になってきます。
うつ病をはじめとした精神疾患の病名はWHO1(世界保険機構）が定めた病名分類により、大きく分けて10に分類されています。
とても多くの病名があり、それぞれの境界も不明瞭で病状も多様です。
また、一人の患者に対して、医師によって異なる病名に診断されてしまうことも多いのが特徴です。ときには、患者やその家族でさえも正確な病名も知らされないままに治療を行っていることもありうる話です。
しかも、正確な病名を知ったとしても、病名と障害年金の認定基準と照らし合わせて的確な障害年金の請求を行うためには、自分の病気以外の病気についても理解しておかなければならないこともあるのです。
特に覚えておいてほしいのは、神経症と判断される病名で請求を行った場合、年金事務所は障害年金の対象外として認定されないケースが多いので注意がひつようです。
いくら勉強したところで医師や看護師などの医療の本職の人たちには遠く及びません。
しかし、病状と障害年金の認定基準・認定要領との関連性を見る上である程度の医療知識は習得するための努力が求められることになります。もちろん、それはうつ病であっても同じことです。
